SS Dicky by NightMorning rays of sunshine over the S.S Dicky shipwreck. The S.S Dicky shipwreck is slowly fading; one day she will be no more. Taken on a calm winters evening right on dusk, the waves from the small swell lap at her broken and tired belly, each wave closer to her last. This image is blend of two images. One taken during the night & the other early morning. Images were merged in Photoshop. The S.S. Dicky was an iron-hulled steamer built in Germany in 1883, she was driven ashore at Caloundra during a cyclone in early February 1893. The SS Dicky Shipwreck. The ship sailed from Rockhampton and as it arrived to clear Caloundra Head it met lashing rain and cyclonic winds that sent the ship on her beam ends. Captain James Beattie was forced to beach the ship to avoid hitting the rocks off Moffat Beach Dicky Beach, Queensland. Product & Size Details: |
